Hands raised in worship at The Mount

Three things people ask
before they walk in.

Most first-time visitors decide on a Saturday night, on a phone, and they are looking for exactly these answers.

01

Where do I park?

We sit on Cameron Road, north of Highway 183 and south of Rundberg Lane. Which entrance to use, how many spaces, and where the accessible spots are.

Directions and parking

02

What do I wear?

Whatever you have on. Some members dress up out of tradition and nobody is counting. You will not be singled out and you will not be asked to stand.

What a Sunday looks like

03

What about my kids?

Children are welcome in the sanctuary for the whole service. Church School times, the ages served, and where check-in happens.

Youth Ministry

Eleven men have stood
in this pulpit.

A hundred and twenty-five years of preaching on the east side of Austin. Three of the portraits were lost. The church keeps the names anyway.

Note for the church

This page already exists. It is a JPEG.

Every portrait above was cut out of one scanned image buried on the current site, where no search engine can read a single name. Set as real pages, the same material is the strongest thing the church owns and the only thing no other church in Austin has.

Plan a visit

Your first Sunday,
start to finish.

Nobody should have to guess. Here is exactly what happens, where to go, and who will be looking for you at the door.

Hands raised in worship at The Mount

The morning, in order

01

Pull in off Cameron Road

We are north of Highway 183 and south of Rundberg Lane. Which entrance to use, where the lot is, and where accessible parking sits.

02

A greeter meets you at the door

Where the welcome desk is, and what a first-time guest receives. You will not be asked to stand up or announce yourself.

03

Worship begins at eleven

Expect about ninety minutes: congregational singing, the choir, scripture, prayer, and the message from Pastor Mays.

04

Children stay with you

Young people are welcome in the sanctuary the whole time. Church School hours, nursery, and the ages each class serves.

05

Stay a minute afterward

Someone from the ministry team is at the front to pray with you, answer a question, or just say hello.

Asked and answered

What should I wear?

Come as you are. Some members dress up out of tradition and plenty do not. You are welcome either way.

Where exactly are you?

8500 Cameron Road, Austin, Texas 78754. North of Highway 183, south of Rundberg Lane. Add the lot entrance and a note about overflow parking.

Can I watch before I come?

Yes. Every service is streamed on YouTube and stays up afterward, so you can watch a whole Sunday before you ever walk in.

Is the building accessible?

Ramp and entrance, elevator, accessible restrooms, reserved seating, and hearing assistance if the church offers it.

I need prayer. Can someone call me?

Yes. Send a request any time and a member of the ministry team will reach out. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

One photograph of the building from the road, and one of the sanctuary full on a Sunday. A phone in daylight is enough. The site currently holds neither.

Note for the church

The archive stops in June 2025.

There are 45 sermons on the site and the newest is sixteen months old, while the preaching has carried on every single week. Pulling titles and dates from the YouTube channel keeps this page current without anyone retyping a thing.

Note for the church

Right now giving is four pages deep.

The site has a Give page, a Donations page, a Ways To Give page and a How Can I Give To The Ministry page. One page with one button raises more than four pages that each raise a question.

The first screen,
side by side.

Most people meet a church on a phone, usually late on a Saturday. Today that screen is the seal and a cookie banner. Here it is the time, the address, and two buttons.

The site today

Measured, not guessed

The homepage weighs 10.4 megabytes.

Eight and a half of those are photographs, several of them sent at 2100 by 2550 pixels to fill a box 580 wide. On a phone away from wi-fi that is most of a minute before anything useful appears, and the service time is below all of it.
